Exhaust Bracket Holes

I have a pipe on my K9 that does not utilize the exhaust bracket mounting holes that are on the frame. Is there anyone out there that sells something to cover up that mounting location? The stock mounting bracked effed up the powder coating a little and I am getting sick of looking at it. I do not have the resources to fab anything so purchasing something is probably my only option.

I was just talking with Ray about that...
I mentioned that he or I could cut something out of 1/4" aluminum... it's so soft that all you really need is a little skill saw - or coping saw if you were motivated.
Redhen does some fantastic work to make it special, and then get it chromed:2thumbs:
I dont have my scoot back yet to mock anything up, but when I do, I'll post something if anyone is interseted.

Cutter, I'm all for this as we discussed before. I think the Cowboy Boot that fits the void almost perfectly and would be even more special if we could get them engraved by Redhen then chromed.
I don't have a saw to do it but will certainly pay whatever charge there would be.

Thanks,
Ray

Tx,
Jake is great, not taking anything away from him, but I doubt he could make the same offer as I did... I have cnc's and a laser... and business is slow.

Ray,
I got some parts for ACM I am dropping off tomorrow(BigBear Athena), I will take some measurements, sketch something up and post a full size pic...

If anyone else is interested, I can burn them quick enough and finish them to whatever extent they wish... Ray is the only one I am offering "his" price to...

I am also starting to work on an air cleaner set up that should work even better than the Power Pacc's for the G carb since it wont be designed for the CV and changed to fit the G's, and no spacer required...

That would be great. I am sure we are not the only ones who are dealing with this. If the powdercoat wasn't all dicked up, one could screw in a couple of button heads and call it a day, unfortunately that is not the case (for me anyway). So, is someone with machine shop access going to come to the rescue with this? If so, I would be interested in getting my hands on something to cover this up. Something pretty basic is all I am looking for. Thanks.

What are Hot Toppers?
Just another version of chrome caps. Similar to the HD ones you see alot of us running.

But they all make a good point that many people will have powder "damage" where the old mounts were.

If we are talking about the same thing...I had the same problem when I took the stock pipes off my Mastiff. I went to ACE Hardware and bought some chrome plugs that fit right into the holes.

It might be. On mine, you can clearly see an outline where the stock bracket wore a spot onto the frame, too deep to even consider buffing. Kinda sux.

Has anyone taken this over? I know Cutter has bigger more important things to tend to and I hope all is going well with him.

Sorry about the lack of follow up with this...

I still don't have my scoot back, but I did take some measurements...
Looks like every bike will be a different bracket...

I personally plan to have that area touched up by a body shop, and get a "color match"...
they did a great job on my fender, which would have been extremely noticable... :2thumbs:

I think a small cover would look good on the rigid bikes, since they have tab welded to the frame.

I can cut a few to match those tabs, for anyone that wants one...

Otherwise, if somebody wants something they can just email me, or post a picture of whatever it is they are looking for and give me a couple of dimensions, and we can go from there...

I thought I responded earlier
That would be great Oscar, I could cut some out of aluminum, stainless, or diamond plate...
I think make them .1" bigger then the tab, and grinding a chamfer where the bracket tab is welded to the frame would give a nice finished look.

Did you want to post something, or e-mail me?

Cutter - PM me your address and I'll get it out to you this weekend. It's an aluminium template. I think it'll work out for you.
