$$$1,000,000!!! Honestly, it just depends on a lot of things: over-all size, amount of detail, individual elements, mono-tone vs. full color, client giving artistic lee-way, ect... If I were to do this job again on a ready base, I'd put it around $1000. I can always tame it down a bit to fit a budget, but I'm going to go pretty crazy on this one. Rob is a good guy, and he basically let me do what I wanted when I designed the mural. Once I got his approval, I ran with it. I'm going to give him his money's worth for obvious reasons, but I also wanted to show you guys what I'm capable of. And hopefully get some more work out of the deal!

Hey BB, I don't know how much color will make it in yet. I'm wingin' it! It's just kandy black on greys right now (picture is coming later today), and it looks awesome so far. I do know I will introduce color in the clown make-up, gums, teeth, tounge (SP?), ice cream cone, and toppings. I'm debating on changing the eyes to a pupiless glowing green, but I'm not quite there yet. And he will have a ruffelly clown collar. Don't know what color that will be??? This stuff paints itself - I'm just along for the ride!

[Ed, what paints are you using? PPG, HOK? Do you make your own Kandy Black?]I use mainly HoK and some PPG toners and bases. The black kandy is an Alsa product. It's not quite as smooth as HoK kandys, but it has good versatility when used over many colors. It looks killer over blues and greens. I went with this to preserve the white clown make-up, instead of straight black - which would have killed it.

That is some crazy-ass shit there! It will be a while before I'm ready to repaint the dog, but I know who I'm calling first. :2thumbs: I see you went with the glowing eyes... must have been difficult to choose between the more "evil" look of the glowing eyes and the more personal staring you in the eye as if to say "careful, or you'll be next". What was your thought process there?
