EVERYBODY OK

I live 25 miles west of Atlantic City, in Williamstown NJ, the shore got crushed. Once Sandy hit land she kind of died for the most part. We got some High Winds and rain but never lost power. So people in the area had trees uprooted and torn apart. But the barrier islands got it the worst.

I just got my cellphone charged at the fire house this morning then got in a gas line at 4 am. The station opens at 6 and I'm 8th inline with a 50 cash max purchase. It's really cold, lost trees but house is still here. Hopefully power next week.

Btw, I'm really fortunate I've seen what's happened to others. The jersey shore will look different on the map when this is cleaned up. There are photo galleries here: http://www.nj.com/

I got a buddy who lives on long island, and another one that lives in-land down in S. Jersey spoke to both of them yesterday both are good.

Guy in Long Island says no Power lots of devastion around him but family and himself are safe, he said a lot are not so lucky. Guy in S. Jersey says they didn't even lose power.

It's been rough...Sunday 2pm - Still no power at home (NJ) or at work (both NYC downtown locations 120 Wall St and 100 William St. have been hit pretty bad)

Had a couple of close calls - fallen trees and one of my rear tiers got caught on a live wire - both my wife and I managed to get out alive....

All said and done we have a lot to be grateful for - life goes on.

Send gasoline!!! It is the same gas lines in the early 70's gas crunch. Odd even days to odd even plates again. 4 hours on line for gas.

Jerry you are not alone. I waited 4 hours this morning and got home at 11 AM. The wife goes out and comes back in 20 minutes. I said did you give up, she said no the BP has a very short line. So I go and top off my truck even with a 1/2 a tank in it. The gas lines will be gone by next weekend.
