Every year, the first ride.....Dog pisses

Hey Guys,
This happens every year with my 03 chopper. My guess is, its normal, but I thought I'd run it by you guys.

I live in NH. In November I winterize the dog(gasmans instructions help bigtime here). Only thing I don't do is change the oil. I wait until the new season.

On the first ride of the year, I start it up, let it warm up, and I check for any leaks. I then take it for a short ride, around the block, then come back and look it over. Every year, nothing leaks, but after a few minutes, the Dog pisses on the garage floor. Not sure where from, and it takes a while before it does it. Its oil from the middle of the bike. I can never find where it comes from, and it only happens once a season. I was thinking primary, cause its real clean, but my level is fine. My engin oil level is always down just a little, so my guess is its from there. But why, and how come its clean?

I've taken it out twice now for short rides, and its fine. Just like every year. WHAT THE F**K AM I MISSING!!!

Is it just condensation spitting out with some oil? Is this typical?

if you were kept in the house all winter, you would need to piss too.

never happened to mine, but then again, there are few times when it goes more than 2-3 wks. without goin' for a ride. and I don't winterize.

Can you tell if it has water mixed with it? Guess we'll have to wait until next year for you to get another sample, but when next year comes around, just remember to put a catch pan under it when you park so you can get a good look at what's coming out.

AVDHunter,
Ya, actually, my guess is exactly that, its engine oil just slighty wet sounds right. Thats why I thought it might be from condensate (water) from the engine being cold for months then warmed up. Only happens once a season. Remember, we store them for 5 months here. Funny, it doesn' do it right after I stop. But within an hour, there is this puddle on the floor, then its wait till next year.

Almost like the oil breaks down a little, and it pee's it out.

It really is just once each year. Always the first time running it after sitting all winter. Its one of the reasons I don't change the oil till after the new season. Don't want to ruin new oil if its water from the engine sitting.

Know what I mean?

You store your Dog in the cold? Shame, shame shame. Mine and Rocky's are house dogs. Besides, sometimes it gets below freezing here. :D

BadBrad,

NO, I would never store my Dog in the Cold. My garage is heated to 50 degrees, all winter. Biggest reason I bought the house. Heated garage. The better half liked the hard wood floors and the awesome kitchen. I just wanted a warm dog house for the Big Dog.

So is this normal for the dogs up north?

Mine is an 03 also.....not had that problem ever, however, my old Harley would pump oil up and out the air cleaner if I let it set to long without starting. A check valve, spring and ball were supposed to prevent oil from draining into the lower cases. Never could stop it. My routine was put a can below the air cleaner and let it happen then add about that much oil.
