It used to happen to me when I would ride my Cory Ness Jackpot to the local HD. Until I took my Deuce in for a service and they realized I had an HD as well.

No can not say that it is happened when I have worn a BD shirt into the HD. My local seem to be fine and willing to take my money regardless if I have a BD shirt on or come rolling up on a Vespa.

Don't fret Darcy, my local Harley shop is a bunch of douche bags no matter what you are wearing. But yeah I pulled up on my bad ass K9 LE one time and was extra ignored. CAN YOU SAY JEALOUS.

But now there are HD shops that I have been to where the folks are cool as can be, like the one up here in Fargo.... nice folks!

Last time I was in the local HD store I had a Black Dog Motorcycle shirt on and one of the salesman asked me how the owner Mike of the local Big Dog shop was doing, said he was a great guy. Then we bullshitted for 1/2 hour about riding.

Wow its funny to find this post just this past weekend I thought I would check out this local biker tradition its a biker breakfast at Welcome To Poe's Pub anyway I pull the Chop into the parking lot and I'm sorta stunned that I get the cold shoulder I could not get anyone to even look my way? So I get off and walk around and I hear from behind me ..dam they will let anyone up in hear???? and then the other one says YEA we don't discriminate and they both laugh ...I'm kinda laughing inside cause most of the bikes are really old Honda's and BMWS's some cool some junk and basically all of them were stock ...only a hand full of HDS but plenty of CROTCH ROCKETS mostly !!! but some cool Ducatis and Triumphs non the less ..but The point was that because I rode the chop into the lot ..and I was the only BD I was sorta shunned..really, no one talked to me "granted i was taken back because of the treatment I was getting so I did not strike up any conversations ..anyway the local photo tags liked my bike ..I got plenty of people taking pictures of the bike ..I really think the bikers were envious ? or tired of the attention these bikes get at a gathering???? So I left within 15min of getting there ..and had two of the photo tags snapping away as I left LOL IF I ever go back I will bring one of the other rides.. WOW was surprised ...the price of riding such a goodlookin ride... LOL:eek::eek::eek:http://flickr.com/photos/mojohand/3342765532/

One HD dealership that won't "shun" you is the one in Baton Rouge. They're also a Big Dog dealership! How about that? Harleys and Big Dogs being sold from the same location.

Hi K9 Rider. Yes, unfortunately from my experience, there is sometimes a price to pay for riding such a beautiful hot rod as the K9. I am almost always snubbed by the Harley Cult wherever I go, and I often hear Harley riders insulting my bike under their breath (i.e., "Look at that piece of shit"). Now I didn't buy this bike to show off--I bought it beacause I fell in love with its killer looks, power, and performance. I think that it's the best overall production chopper in the world, and I really don't give a F___K! about what other ignorant or jeallous people think. That's just the way life is. I do notice that the more evolved citizens of our world--the senior citizens seem to tell it like it is, and often compliment my bike--true compliments. Not worth getting into a fight over though. Enjoy your bike, and try to find other Big Dog riders in your area to go to events with. All the Best--Brock

I seem to be snubbed every time I go to my local HD dealer however; I'm not sure that it has anything to do with what I roll up with or am wearing (I only own BD's right now). But I've gone in several times looking at street glides and ultra classics (don't tell BBC of course..:D), I get no sales interest no matter what I am looking at. They seem happy to help when I ask for something though. Point is, for some dealers, maybe its just their style, I don't consider my bike to be anything other than the bike I happen to ride, some like it some don't....<shrug>

That's pretty good advice Brock, I guess what i was thinking......a drive by the Harley dealership on the K9 mackin caps from an AK and hurling motav cocktails may been a little over board. :2thumbs::roll:

I've been shunned at Bergen Harley for riding in on the dog, which is funny because they are a Big Dog dealer. They have the Dogs in some little office on the second floor in the back. There were only 3 dogs there when I went in. When I asked a salesman where the dogs were he pointed to the back and said "they are back there." He then walked away and was no where to be found.

This is why I spent my hard earned money at Long Branch Harley when I bought my 2010 Street Glide two weeks ago. The Guys at Long Branch have drooled over my dog every time I stop in to look around and are a bunch of nice guys.

When I stop in the local HD dealer on my Suzuki intruder I get ignored....
When I stop in on by big dog the salesmen try to sell the most expensive bike in stock....
I kinda think it's funny

Before they went "corporate" my local HD dealer had beer in the coke machine, go in for inspection, (no appopintment needed) drink a quick beer done. Now they want you to make an appointment for inspection, parts girl looks great, doesn't know shit about parts, and there is a guy trying to sell me a bike. Now I go to an independant guy for inspection, in and out in 15 min. No beer in the coke machine though.

Local HD place to me is the same way. I drove up in the truck and parked up front... there was maybe two dozen HDs there and a couple complimented the truck and inside I got plenty of help. Went back another time on the BD (only 8 or so HDs in front) and one guy commented on how quiet the Dog was (damn stock pipes... damn Stainless Creations...) and when I was inside, I never got a bit of help until I tracked someone down.

To think... I almost bought a Harley.

You're damn right MO-FO got a problem with it.

Naaah, I'm a pretty humble Big Dog owner, hell I still can't believe it is mine.....well in 47 more payments it will be! :2thumbs:

A lot of the Harley dealers used to be dicks, dicks, dicks, dicks! There are still some around, but most have at least wised up a little. They are hurting for customers like every other bike dealer in this economy, so they don't want to piss off any potential customers.

srry to hear that...my local HD shop loves BDM's, they are super friendly to everyone. The only time I ever get shunned @ a HD is if Im wearing dress clothes!!! haha!
