Are you making a conscious effort to avoid the ethanol pumps?? I try to stay with with sunoco. Hearing more and more carb issues.
Never thought about it? YOU NEED TO! :zz2cents:

This is a big issue for many toys like ours that have carbs. My dad builds street rods and all of his publications are talking about this. The ethanol is eating up fuel systems. There is a marine grade Stabil out there that is supposed to be pretty good at fighting the ethanol damage

Motorcycle, car, truck. Ethanol Sucks. Were getting it shoved down out throat and told it's good for the environment. It kills gas mileage, destroys components and robs vital corn from our food supply.

I went on a trip. Half way through I updated the map in th bike and gas mileage went from 29 to 39mpg. I was REAL happy that the map had fixed my mileage issue. When I got back my mileage dropped back to 30mpg.

Yep, it was the gas from out of town. No ethanol. Bastards!:angry::rant::angry:

Ethanol Added Gasoline

I remember that the alcohol (ethanol) we burned in our race cars was hell on the rubber, nylon, and brass components that were in/on our fuel systems. But our wonderful politicians wouldn`t place any component in our fuel to harm our vehicles which we work so hard for. Our best interest is all they have in mind. Yeah--right. Any additives which are introduced into the expensive fuels we are forced to use surely wouldn`t do any harm to the over priced vehicles offered the general public. Not our government! Don`t bet on it my friend.
I actually feel foolish calling this krap gasoline---it`s not what I remember as good old gasoline. What I do remember is a substance that was almost sweet smelling due to the tetraethyl lead used to lubricate the valves and it had a definite oily feel; not at all like the substance that is sold today,--read that forced on us today.
Just my :zz2cents: worth. Sorry about the rant everyone.

In 10 months the Iowa caucus will be upon us. Are there any Republicans out there with the balls to tell Iowa NO? If there is one that does, he or she will get my vote on Super Tuesay, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. As for Obama, he can't say no to any govt subsidy or program, he's all about government. It's about buying votes pure and simple for both sides. Ethanol drives up the profits for rural farmers, and guess who controls Iowa. Do you want to know how an a-hole like Tom Harkin has been screwing tax payers for so long? He's an Iowa senator and the king of farm subsidies.

Hey Republicans, when Al Gore admits publicly that Ethanol is a scam, it's time to let it go. Not only are we paying more for food because of it, it's destructive to our private property. And it's a total Ffffing ripoff energy wise.

And one more thing.....the exhaust on my private propery is none of the g*d d*mn EPA's business. You pay $34,000 for a custom bike and right out of the gate you gotta pay another 600-1200 bucks for aftermarket exhaust so it doesn't sound like a fffing sewing machine on steroids.

I think its a Fed law to have a sticker on the pump under each grade to show what % of ethanol is in the fuel. This is a cool site Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada

Ethanol Labeling Laws - State by State Guide.

Lot of good information here also. States decide whether they require labels on pumps. North Carolina doesn't, Virginia does.

I've got a non-ethanol station a few miles from the house, but they're getting more and more scarce.

Chad, you'll have to do a little detective work to find out if there are any non-ethanol stations in your area, since NC doesn't require pump labels. Call some of the local distributors or oil companies and ask them if they sell non-ethanol 93 octane and to which stations. Most of the clerks at gas stations are clueless whether their gas contains ethanol or not.

BTW, I'll be in touch as we get closer to the Blueridge Bikefest.
