Fix one thing and here comes another, wtf?

My motor seems loud when idleing , I thought it was coming from the primary so I adjusted the chain but then noticed it seems to be coming from the heads , it stops when I rev the motor or when Im riding but continues when I stop .

Can anyone help?

Need more info ...what kind of noise,
1) ka-chink
2) pa-ping
3) clank
4) tap-tap

If you feel that your Valves are adjusted properly and not the culprit....then I suggest you check your vent pipe inside your tank ...the weld tends to break from all the vibration and can masquerade itself as an top end engine noise.

Maybe ca ching ,lol just sounds like its working hard and sounds like from the top end .

I only had the bike a few months and the motor was fine and seems fine now except it sounds like its working hard .
Im hoping its just something loose, I will look again tomorrow the motor was to hot to try to look for a loose bolt etc..

I have no idea where the vent pipe is inside the tank, do you mean the inside of the petcock?

I to have a noise, i have not had time to get around and find it but i think it may be the top engine mount.
My noise is a bit of a squeek more than anything else.
Too bloody wet here at present to take the Dog out, maybe on the weekend>

I had the same noise on my K-9. Sounded like the top end. When the bike is idling lift up back end of tank (where it meets the seat) or push down on it. There is a rubber mount that wears away and causes the tank to vibrate against the frame. It actually did it long enough that it broke a couple wiring connectors under the tank causing my turn signals to short out and start flashing whenever they wanted!! Not sure if your bike is set up the same or not. That noise drove me crazy until I found it!!

If it is a squeak when taking off, I have been told it was the ignition cover motor mount but I didn't find that to be the case for me (I check once in a while) and I never heard it someone else said they did! As far as the gas tank rear rubber, mine was intact but a little loose so I wrapped it with electrical tape and the gas tank doesn't vibrate anywhere close to what it used to. I would have to put my hand on it to stop it before so I knew it was going to wear something out. Now, all is good. :D

At the risk of sounding like an idiot , I think the noise might be coming from the primary , I had adjust the chain so I didnt think it was that , I will do it again and if needed take the cover off and look it over.

I did find my top engine mount loose last night, tightened it and rode it to work today, no noise. Now i just need my WP and some time to wire it in and i am ready to trust my Dog.

I checked all the engine mounts and seat brackets etc ... it sounded like the top end so I went ahead and adjusted the push rods , thats a first for me, lol but still the noise and I had adjusted the primary already but tried again and obviously the chain had become loose again so I tightened it and it purrs like a kitten now. Im happy it wasnt anything serious!!!

Thanks for all the tips once again
