There are still some unanswered questions from earlier posts.
I don't have the PDM wire diagram to work with at this time. Can you post a good picture of one.
It could indicate that the LED isn't being completely turned OFF. 5k to 10k 1/4w pull-up resistor from the LED signal wire to +5v power.
12 ma is nothing as far as power. That minor amount of current shouldn't drain your battery in 3 days.
A short (high current) would be much more than the little 12ma if it is a short circuit connection.
A high resistance short (low current) due to corrosion contact could be possible.
