clutch basket nut
I had the same thing happen to my 2005 pitbull. The clutch would not disengage and it had a noise that went away when you pull in clutch. I removed cover and clutch pack and found nut loose. Now the thing that sux is the nut is counterclockwise thread so if it gets just a little loose it will then spin itself off. The engine nut is clockwise ,both shafts turn in the same direction so why the hell would they do that. I seems that putting counter threats would cost more to machine?
Also If anyone does this repair remember to loosen clutch cable then re adjust. If you do not and the clutch cable has been adjusted out to compensate for nut backing off then when the nut is tight the clutch will slip and when you pull in clutch the discs will fall off cogs. then you will be takeing it all back apart. do not ask me how I know this LOL.
One last thing I used red locktight when I did mine.
