oops...sorry

I was frantically trying to find an answer earlier that would determine if i needed to grind off brand new powder coating in order to ground the engine to the frame....which i'm in the process of now...
So.. how's everybody? I'm new here, got a 2002 pitbull that was just thrown together in order to sell that i'm in the middle of a frame-up rebuild. Going VERY slowly cause i don't know what i'm doing half the time...

Most definately you don't want powder there.

Yes, ground it to the frame for sure, and most importantly, what Gas said. If there is anything but bare metal where the motor touches the frame, the vibration will pulverize it to dust, and it will all get loose down the road. That is very important. If you're going to try grinding the powdercoat off, be careful you don't round off or otherwise disturb the flat plane of the mounting points. You can use a torch to scorch and then scrape off the powdercoat and then finish it up with a fine/soft sanding disc. I also have used gel based paint stripper, a scraper, and a wire wheel to remove powdercoat.
