Energy One Vs Bandit

Well I took the bike out for the second time since having the motor built and have already discovered the weak link. My clutch is trash, slipping like crazy. I have a history of having to do things with the bike about three times before I am happy with it and end up paying three times more then its worth. So, to stop that bad habit, what is hands down the best clutch out there for slamming gears worry free.

Those of you with Bandit what are your likes and dislikes

Anyone here running an Energy One, if so likes and dislikes

I love my bandit although it did take some tinkering to make sure I had the correct shims! I have no idea about the other one...

Energy One is comparable to your stock clutch but I am sure they can set you up with what you need. They are the manufacture of the plates and steels for most of the companies out there.

Bandit has an absolutely great reputation on here and probably have a setup on the shelf ready to go for you.

It seems like the Bandit is very popular and well liked. I don't think the easy pull set up is appropriate for my build though. I will give them a call.

Just to muddy the waters.......

I am having good luck with my EFM Auto Clutch.

I have about 300 miles on it so far.

RCAdd1ct, I am open to all suggestions. I appreciate your input. If you don't mind, what mods have you done or is the motor stock. Also, what made you go with your choice? What are the benefits of the auto clutch over the other clutches you looked at?

I couldnt find anyone here that had tried the Energy One. I wasnt going to be the first after doing my research.

Energy One has less plates than stock Bandit has more. Less plates = less surface = less grip = wasted $$

Dont fall for the 100 buck clutch!!!

This is on my AIH.

Don't know what it is about the bike, but the clutch was giving me tendinitis.

I put the auto clutch in and the tendinitis is going away.

It works just like the videos display on his site. EFM Auto Clutch

You would have to send him your basket or if you went with a belt drive, just order it through him and have him fix it up.

Like I said so far so good, but I don't have a bunch of miles on it yet to give a yep it works forever seal of approval.

I put the Bandit Bruiser carrier and clutch basket in my 06 K9 with a 124, thats puttinng out 134 horses, and went with 2 shims. I have a hydraulic clutch so my set up is a little different than others. I just finished a 6900 mile 8 week trip and had 0 problems with the system and that was with my stock friction plates, because Bandit was out of stock at the time and I had no time to wait. Bandit sent me the friction plates later so I just have to swap them out now.

I've had no real issue with the stock 05 other than broken cable. It does have the updated carrier and original 12 plates. Wonder how much changing to lowere number of plates in later years effected abilities.

Wonder if the people that have had issue with the BD clutch with exception of the first 05 with old style carrier, are more with the newer less plate type.

Bandit is very good from everyone I known that had one, if I had to make a choice it would be towards Bandit, but till the stock gives me real problem fine with it!

The only thing that was wrong with my stock one was the pressure plate but I already ordered the Bandit.:bang:

Really, most everyone here is using the Bandit Bruiser. There are no complaints on it either pull wise or reliability. This is one time you should join the crowd and go Bandit.
