need help posted problem once no responce i know I'am new to the forum if I'm doing something wrong please tel me I have search FAQ was a lot of help but I need more info I have 02 husky that started burning out cam sensor checked for bad grounds change ignition module;key switch;plugs,plug wires,new battery,send EHC to thunderheart for test came back good change any way because thought vibration problem back fires thru exhaust at about 3 thousand rpms checked in dark for any arching of wires none check volts at battery when running got 13.5 volts when it pops all lights and speedo blinks
that about covers everything to date any feed back would be appreciated
oh yeah by passed ehc to key switch burn cam sensor

When you your cam sensor is "burnt", what do you mean? Physically burnt? Checks bad with a meter? Or what?

Could heat be your problem? What kind of pipes do you have?

This sounds more like a bad connection somewhere than a bad cam sensor. Have you removed, cleaned, and recrimped you battery connectors?

I would check to see if the green wire coming from the cam sensor is shorted to ground somewhere between the sensor and the ignition module...

good idea done that to.. the only thing I have not changed is the coil.. I did ohm a new coil and my coil same reading on both coils .but that does not mean my coil is not breaking down

Dennis, if the bike was severly out of time would it do that to the cam sensor?

I'm just thinking maybe the cam sensor was not put back in correctly, and the engine is running out of time? It explains the rough running. Although I'm not sure if it would physically burn a hole in the cam sensor.

I tried setting static timming by getting the f mark on crank center of hole on compression stroke turning cam sensor using light on ignition module to set as close to blinking as possible . don't know if this is correct.. one other thing I'm thinking it has a walmart battery in it 250 cold cranking amps. ran fine with that before when I first bought it . I did get it load tested check good. any suggestion on battery

if any one knows a better way to set timming please let me know.

I do not no much about older models, have you call S&S, everytime I have talked to them they have been very helpful. do you have shop manual, If you can post electrical schematic so we could see were everything goes, maybe we could get some talk going to help you find problem. guys who no electrical could maybe help better.

does any one know how to check regulator and stator on 02 husky? found a post by
joker9r but my bike only has 2 wires from stator and 1from regulator to battery.
any more suggestions will be appreciated

thanks Dennis perform test stator and regulator seem good . thats one more thing we can cross off list of things to check.

don't have 02 wiring diagram.. seen post where X-RAY DR was sending one to someone on site I P M him to email me one .. don't feel bad I've been dead in water for awhile. just don't know what esle to ckeck. thinking of brining to local mall and hope for the best but with luck they will probability bring it back :lol::lol:
