Electrical Issue

I was riding my 04 Chopper a couple weeks ago and it quit. Take the seat off and the positive battery cable had fallen off the battery. Reinstalled it and bike started up. Lost speedo (Dakota Digital), odometer, tach, turn signal indicators (and front did work, back still worked), and headlight. Sent the ECH back to Thunderheart (RIP Kit) and they replaced the board and said everything tested.

Put it in tonight and still no headlight - off brand LED - replaced the bulb and headlight worked. Still no speedo (shows 00), odometer not moving, no bright indicator, but everything else works. Any ideas on what to check next?

Any wire off the posi side sitting down in the battery cavity somewhere? With a dry paper towel, can you wipe the trans sensor at the magnet> gotta pull it out and check for debris. Someone will correct me if that's not the speedo sensor at the trans case?

You could have lost/fried the components too.

You already kinda solved it by Trying the easy one first and stuck in a new headlight.

I lost my tach ring when the PDM kit failed. There is a resistor on the tach ring which may have melted before the thunder heart board caught it. Speedo probably went too. Take the tach ring out and have a look it will be easy to spot. It will look melted, ha.

If you need a new one, easy enough.

Finally had time to work on the chopper. Tach Ring does not look burnt. Plugged in my original speedo and went for a quick ride. No speed reading or odometer reading.

No wire not connected. Will check the trans sensor next.

I don't know if this is helpful but I took a look at the wiring diagram for an 04 chopper and it looks like the Speedo gets it's signal from the Speedo sensor(on the trans) and the tach gets it's signal from the cam signal through the ignition module connector. The high beam indicator also shares a connector with the tach. All get power from the EHC. Since you were told the EHC tested good, double check the connectors ( loose or pulled back pins)between the EHC and the Tach ring and Speedo. Also between the EHC and the Ignition Module.
