Hi everyone. I'm Al from southeast MI. Mostly I just read all the posts, trying to get educated and see what's going on. Here's my issue. I put my battery back in my 09 Mastiff on Saturday and arched the cable holding my seat on to one of the 40 amp breakers behind the left side cover. I forgot I tucked it down there when I removed the seat in November. Anyways, I put battery in hooked it all up. Reset EHC. Put seat on turned on key, Bang, flash, and huge puff of smoke let me know the cable was now welded to breaker. I replaced both breakers today, reset EHC, bike cranks but won't fire up. I don't hear the whine of, maybe the fuel pump, when I hit run. I heard a click after a few seconds. The EHC lights all came on when key was turned on, then all but last two near back of bike went off. The 2 one were a blinking green and a steady red or orange. Any help would be great and you all seem like the greatest group of people

Thanks Jason, I did a search before I posted but I do remember Gasman's how to on that. I'll search again.

Alright, after find gasmans post I've redeterimed I have the 18 light ehc. the lights are the second row from back. The controller on light is blinking and the power light is steady. That's all I got so far.

Go back to your bike.
While holding the left blinker button in turn the ignition key on.
Continue to hold the blinker button in while the EHC goes through its self test.
If the bike goes back to its normal start ready state then you know you have done no damage to the EHC.
If it does not then you will see leds on the EHC lit up that indicate what the faults are.

If everything is good then press the Engine On "Run" button.
Look at the side of your ignition module.
There is a red LED there
If that light is not on then you need to check voltage from the EHC to the ignition module.
If you have 12 volts to the ignition module but no red LED at the ignition module then you popped the ignition module.
I have a new one for $140 plus shipping if you need it.

Is your bike fuel injected? If it is then Blinking green is ok. that is telling you the micro controller is powered.If the light right across from the blinking green light is on it indicates a open?short or low current draw in the power up circuit. Are the 2 lights the ones in the second row next to the 2 harness connectors?

Thanks Curtis, I'll try that, but I have no continuity between the wire leading to the circuit breaker I fried. I cut off an inch put on a new lug but my meter reads nothing when I touch the 2 ends. I'm going to find wire now and will try self test on ehc when I get power back to it. Thanks for the info!

Tom, twice in a few weeks. Yes, the bike is efi and yes, the lites are second row from harness. But I see it is power lite so I think it should be steady. Any way I'm on a mission for wire, I will post when I see if that's it and if Curtis procedure corrects it. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks to all who replied. It was, in fact, the wire from the positive battery post to the circuit breaker. It was fried. I put on a new one on, the fuel pump hummed and it started in just a couple cranks. I am so happy it was just this. It was running good, it sounded good, and I can't wait to get it out this weekend. Thanks again!
