Electically dead

Turned the key, nothing happens, nothing. No lights in speedo or headlight, but battery is fully charged. Just rode the bike yesterday and the day before.

2008 K9, carb (non EFI), no modifications to anything electrical ever on bike. 100% stock, 21k miles.

neither of the wires going to the ignition switch appear to be hot. Just looking for general direction to start troubleshooting in. I can turn a wrench with the best of them, but electrical problems are not my strength.

Same thing happened to me in November. I was very busy at the time and didn't have time to troubleshoot anything. I've just been passing my bike looking at it. Now that I have cleared things I'm going to get after it. We have the same identical problem. I'll keep you informed of what's happening.
