let me ask , when I go to start MY bike, I press the start button and it will turn for a few seconds and then it stops so I push the button again and it turns again it will do this until it starts , is that normal or should it just keep turning like my Harleys used to? I was wondering if the ehc was deisigned to to do this?

Also what should I expect to happen if and when the ehc goes??

Well on my 04 Chopper it spins until it starts. Maybe a loose connection? I don't think it is a nornal thing to happen but I've been wrong before.

No there's something wrong but I wouldn't jump to any conclusions about the EHC. It could be a bad starter button, Poor electrical connection. I would pull your EHC connectors and make sure they are clean and loaded with dielectric grease and then go through the rest of the starter circuit and make sure everything is right clean and protected with dielectric grease.
If your EHC decides to go bad there is no telling what the symptom will be.

Yes your wrong, I wouldnt sell it if it was bad or if I thought it was going bad, I was considering going with wire plus because I was told they dont make an ehc anymore and if I bought the wire plus and thought maybe I could sell the ehc to offsett the cost but now I have heard of the m-unit I probably going to hold off knowing there might be a repacement if I ever needed one, . And someone would have to be an idiot to post that the ehc was bad and on another post ask about selling ,it,lol sorry

Has it always started this way? Is the battery/starter good? Do you know if you have compression releases? Just a couple questions that would have a little to do with the problem.

I just bought it last spring and it was like that since day one so I bought a braille battery and it still did it so I cleaned all the wires on the battery and it turned over faster for a while but still did the same thing. turn over then stop and had to press the start button again , it always started tho and I also replaced the circuit board in the right hand control so I always thought maybe it was suppose to do that is why I asked if the ehc was deigned to do that for some reason.

Yes it does have a compression release AND i believe the starter is fine , I installed a slam button and when I use that it turns over fine , its to cold up here now but soon as it warms up I will check and clean all the wiring and also clean the pins in the ehc

I cleaned all the connections and checked all the wires and made sure they were tight, the orange wire going to the battery was a lil loose in the wire connecter so I took it out and re crimped it , charged the battery and it cranks over like a champ and like it never did since I bought it last year. I am def happy about that but its still to cold to ride up here, wtf?
