EHC

The EHC went out on my 2004 chopper. The dealer said they are back ordered. Anyone know who might carry one ?Is an after market unit available?
This last one lasted 3 years. And is going to be number 5.

Interesting to hear that is back-ordered. I am looking to change mine on a 05 and my dealer said the same thing. They are supposed to give me a call when they get an update from BDM. I hope it is not a long delay for it starting to sound like BDM is out of them and waiting for supplier to send new batch.

Hopefully this will be a small time and not a trend of them not having older parts available routinely.

If the EHC is on backorder, and for now that may be an inconvienience, long term it could be a good thing. What you want is the newest, most updated version available, so that hopefully you wont have this problem again. If they are waiting on new ones that could just be the ticket. Hope you guys get fixed up and back on the road soon!

So true, maybe it is a good thing and we get something better. Than again mine was working fine until I screwed it up. Not a BDM issue, more of not paying close enough attention.

That said if by Monday they do not have a date in the very near future. I am going to go by-pass the oil pressure light and ride the shit out of it until the new ones get to the dealers.

Mine was shipped yesterday from Columbus ( Ohio ) Big Dog. So it's in the mail.

I am on my 3rd. Everytime they said it was on backorder. You would think they would have 500 of these just in case they(us) need them. The newer style one is no more reliable that the old style.

call every bdm dealer on the big dog site till you find one. I knew Columbus had one, but it looks like marine mike snagged it up. Great time of year for them to go on backorder.

Stopped in a dealership down south a couple years ago.....he asked if I have had trouble with my EHC yet. I was on a road trip, 500 miles from home and got a little concerned. He said he could bypass the module, hard wire everything for less than it cost to replace it. If mine does go out, I think that is the way I'll go. What do you need it for anyway?:down:

Got my new EHC and it cost over 650.00 . The one before was 239.00 I hope this one lasts. It's the new model?
