I just recently purchased an EHC RIP kit for my 2004 Ridgeback. A few years ago i had the connector break for the right hand control so I had to cut the connectors off and hard wire the conductors. Unfortunately now that I pulled the wire harness through the backbone of the bike, I will need to cut the end off of the new connector to do the same. The issue I have is that the wire colors are not the same. I have the 2004 service manual and the wiring diagram shows me what each wires color is and what it controls. I just need to know what wires to connect them to on the new cable from the EHC RIP right hand control. I've sent an email to Big Dog, but so far I'm only hearing crickets!! Does anyone know what each wire represents for the right hand control cable on the EHC RIP?

Assuming it's the same as my 06, red and yellow is front brake, white and brown is right signal, black and red is start, grey is kill/run

Thanks for your assistance Tyler. According to my wiring diagram, the black wire is a common ground and you can see from the attached picture there are six conductors. With black being common to the 5 functions of orange-brake; brown-right turn; red-run; blue-off and green-start, I would need to know the exact wire match to the right hand control cable of the new EHC RIP.

Orange with white stripe connects to the black wire, everything else match it up as I said before. This is from the thunderheart manual which is what the unit RIP uses.

Damn!! Unfortunately the EHC RIP wires for the right hand control are different color wires than your diagram!! Big Dog is of no damn help. I sent them 2 email requests last week and haven't heard from them. They must be right back where they left off in customer service!!

Can you take a pic of the right control wiring on your kit? I dont see how they are different since rip uses thunderheart, unless the 04 uses a different thunderheart module
