I recently replaced the EHC on my 2003 Mastiff with the Wire Plus WP 381. Having not done this before worked out great. Everything is working.

I wrote to soon. the damn bike left me on the side of the road with just 50 miles on the replacement. Everything went dead. I haven't got into it yet but it looks like the power module. I would be willing to bet this is not under warranty.

Ya, I was waiting until you rode it for a few miles. Gezz, I feel lucky. I got 200 miles out of mine. If you bought it less than a year ago it is BUT you will have to tear it apart and mail it to them and then they will determin IF you installed it correctly before fixing it or not. Good luck sitting out the rest of the summer. I just hot wired mine....

I think we could use more geniuses like you guys. It is handy to have guys who know what is wrong without seeing the bike, or looking into the problem. I once bought new sneakers and all the sudden left shoe started to smell like cowshit. Seller didn't take any responcibility, just claimed it was the cowshit I stepped in to, yet the boots in my closed don't smell. Adidas is shitty company.

I decided to try my luck today. After taken the cover off and playing with the wiring, low and behold I have power. The dilemma now is to trace down the wire or plug that lost contact so it doesn't happen again.

Glad you found the problem.

The bad thing about electrical circuits (boards) is when you turn them on they get shocked. If you have a lose connection they could get turned off/on many times in a row which fries them quick so making sure all your connections are good is very important.

I have a software company with around 9 computers. We NEVER turn them off and have backup power supplies in case the power goes off. My main computer has been running now for 7 years without being turned off. My brother in law just got a new computer last Christmas and turns it on and off. It went up in smoke yesterday.

I may have nothing to say, but I was trying to say don't jump the gun. It's not always EHC. Well, like in this case. Peace

Cool but that's what you should have said.... an I agree with you. With all those wires and switches anything can go wrong.
