I bypassed the old switch with a toggle switch,and it never missed a beat in a 200+ mile jaunt.Installed sportster switch and it cuts out at least once per ride,similiar to before the switch change.Any ideas?
Have you double checkedyour connections in case something has vibrated a bit loose? Good crimps? Any issue if you jiggle the switch connections while it's running? If you had no problems at all with the toggle, I'd be tempted to swap that back in for a while just to see if it recurs. Good luck...

As I said above that's exactly what I did with mine a couple of years ago. Just replace the key switch. You might even consider replacing with a HD Sportster key switch. That way if you decide to go WirePlus on the ehc then you will already have the switch installed. Its a little more work but a much better switch than the BDM. You will have do a little grinding in the coil cover to make room but not to difficult.
