Hello
I have a 2004 big dog ridgeback I recently had detailed when the guy called me he said it was done and when he went to hook the battery back up and turned the key on it cranked over on it's own not pushing start button. So I trailered bike home hooked up batt when I got home I have no crank no headlight. Battery is a week old. Has 12.4 volts when key is on both turn signal lights are on on dash along w normal natural light and oil light. I removed headlight to check for broke/melted wires and all look fine. Te ehc has seven red lights on in a row from plug to out side the last three lights are not lit. Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated. I see these bikes are notorious for ehc problems but havnt read anything yet w my same problems.
Thanks for any input!

I really don't think it's the EHC. You said you had it detailed, did he wash the bike with a hose or pressure washer? Did he get water in the hand grip controls or under the seat? Sounds like you have a short somewhere or something is wet.
Someone will get with you soon, that has had the same problem. In the mean time, start checking connection and put some electrolyte grease in them.

I'm gonna rip tank off this week n check hand controls he said he didn't get under seat wet or pressure wash anything. The speedo was loose up on bars he said he tried to get in there to tighten that guess I'll start there thanks for reply!!

Definitely sounds like something something got wet. Like wright says take the connectors apart and look for moisture, then dry out. Use dielectric grease on connectors and try to seal up the hand controls with perma-seal. You have come to the right place, a lot of good help here. Just be patient! Someone will steer you in the right direction.

Why would you disconnect the battery to wash it? Most of the ECH problems arise when the battery terminals are lose or not making a good connection. You could have fried the ECH or as others said got the ECH wet. I'd check the battery terminals first to insure they are secure and tight and take a hair dryer to the ECH, handlebar controls and plugins under the tank.
