EHC Light Diagrams / Problem

I am having a tough time finding out the exact EHC Diagram of the LED lights on my 04 Pitbull. There seems to be may different versions out there and have been unsuccessful finding the correct one.

First I will tell you my problem. As with most of us I am having an EHC issue. One day bike will start up just fine and run great and then the next day my right turn signal will start flashing as i am about to start bike and I cant get anything to work. I have replaced my voltage regulator, cleaned all terminals and connections, and got a new battery, but still does not fix the problem. Also some of the times I do get it to start and take it on a ride, Ill be riding and all the sudden my hazards will come on and then my tach and spedo will reset but bike will keep running fine so i hit a blinker switch and the hazards will shut off??

I know I should invest in a replacement kit and just get rid of the old system completely, but just being out of college and buying a house has left me pinching pennys lately!

But back to the EHC LED's, All of them but one turn on when I turn the key on. Please see attached Photo of which one it is.

EHC shows
"BIG DOG CARB EHC
171-000010-00 REV F
176-000003-00 REV D
01-0476-00 REV G S/N:"

Any help it appreciated! Thanks,

My 04 Mastiff, which looks very similar to yours only had the single row of LEDs and the LEDS would only come on if there was a problem. I lost the horn grown once and a led came on. I'd recheck the battery to chassis grounds. Idk but if LEDs on mine came on it wasn't a good thing.

IF ALL lights are on, it indicates that the EHC is resetting...this is how you RESET it Manually:
disconnect your battery and then hook up the positive terminal first. turn the key off and wait a minute.
then turn the key on and the ehc should reset.

If it's doing this on and off, I'm going to say that it has something to do with a bad crimp, wire or connection.

Start with the EHC harness connector first, disconnect batter (ground first off, last on), unplug your EHC, clean the connectors and apply dialectic grease and check all the pins to make sure they are not pushed up into the plug or corroded....check all connections and crimps by battery as well.....it really sounds like something isn't grounded, connected right, and probably was caused by the vibration of the bike or moisture getting into your plugs...

just my .02

Marky-Marc,

I just cleaned all connections and added diaelectric grease about 3 weeks ago and it worked great for 2 days after that, but then went back to the same old. I sanded all connections that get connected to battery terminals as well and made sure they were tight. It could very well be a bad ground to the frame, that is one thing that i never did check i believe.

Today I checked voltage just sitting and it is coming back just around 12 volts and when running its at about 13.9 so that should be all good.

Around 12 volts?
11.5 volts is empty, 11,8 is about 30% full, 12.1 is about 50% full, 12.7 is full...

Voltage voltage voltage, and AMPERAGE, we talk about it all the time and I'm still lost in all the conversations even with being an engineer since almost everyone has different values and data...his bike starts at 12 volt, so does mine, mine can sit for weeks to a month with no tender and fires right up....a lot of others won't start without being on a tender after a few days....

I have come to believe it really depends on the bike and the module/kit you have....and which battery you are using..AND foremost-LUCK! Hahahaha..

Thanks everyone!

I will check voltage again in the morning to see what it is at after sitting for the night, and then will report my findings. Hopefully battery isnt junk, just bought it about a month ago.

When my first EHC went out my turn singles would flash. Sometimes it would start next time just flash the turn lights. Looks like you hooked up with Alex good luck. Here is the wiring dia. for your bike.
