I may be the first Bagger with the EHC issue. At first it was a small problem then it got worse. I'm asking which is the best solution for a 2010 EFI bike. Money isn't a problem....time is.
What were the problems...that got worse?
Can you lay out a timeline of when issues started, symptoms, what you did, did it change and so on up to this point? Also, have you load tested your battery?
Over the winter I had my fairing and one saddle bag painted. While that was being done I had my headlight replaced with an HID light. On Saturday I got the bike back together the brake lights would not come on when the front brake was engaged. I also noticed that the speedo was not working. This bike came with the medallion speedo. The running lights were also not working. I removed the headlight and the problem was still there. When I plugged it back in the bike would not fire at all. I did a battery reset and I can get the bike running but only if the headlight is on hi beam. When I switch to low beam the bike dies. The painter informed me he removed and resoddered my lights when he put my bag together. I'm going to check his work this week.
If you don't know how to load test your battery, take it out and go to Advanced Auto, etc and they'll do it for free. And take that HID out. You don't need it and it doesn't always work with an EHC (EHC is so smart it doesn't like change).
Your bagGger Has The NeW "Smart EHC"
push The Left Blinker Button And Hold It
Turn The Key On
It Will Take 6-10 Seconds For The EHC to Finish The Self Test
If The EHC goes Straight To "Start Ready" State After The Test Then You Do Not Have EHC issues
If IT Does Not Go To A Start Ready State Then Take note Of Which Lights Are Lit On The EHC and iF Any Physical Functions Are Running On The Bike Such As A Blinker That Is FlaShing Then Post That Info BackHere
Problems solved. I had a short on one of the tail lights in the saddle bag that wasn't repainted and the EHC didn't like the HID headlight. Thanks everyone for the help.
