ehc??? electrical???

My 04 mastiff quit on me. not getting power to the ignition module. i jumped a wire from battery to hot side of coil and started right up. ran like crap without the ignition module (no timing). Now im getting nothing on controls. When i turn the key on i get the oil light and neutral light. Thats it. By accident i discovered that if i ground the aluminum housing on the th ignition module tail lights, license plate lights, and running lights come on. No head light. Also get green flashing light on ehc, starter light is red and so are front turn signal indicator on ehc. Very confused. PLEASE HELPPPPPP!!!!!!

Well for starters the last thing anyone wants to start doing, and I'm saying this for everyone who owns a Big Dog with an EHC still installed, is shorting things out to each other all over the bike.
In a low voltage electronic system its likely to lead to nothing but burning circuits out.
Do you have a Service manual so you can intelligently trouble shoot your electrical?

when i ws taking backbone harness out of ehc to clean w contact cleaner the metal clasp part of harness hit the ignition module housing. The ehc diagnostic lights lit up, speedo lit up, dash turn signal indicators lit up. Is that normal?

The system operates off low voltage ground input from the switches to the EHC.
If your lucky it did not hurt anything buttttt..........

Yea the at sounds either like a bad connection, bad Grounds, or just a BAD EHC. I would send it off to get it tested, but first check all your grounds and clean the connections and make sure every connections are solid. I also agree with Kaptin Amerika, The last thing you want to do is start troubleshooting with no knowledge of the system. These EHC's are low voltage and any spike in voltage will fry the system. Hope its nothing bad..

SOP...Always disconnect the battery anytime your're working on an electrical system, like disconnecting harnesses.
