EHC Cross model compatibility

Anyone know if an EHC from a carb pitbull will work with a K9? Are all models from a given year compatible as long as they are carb to carb or EFI to EFI?

That's what I was thinking... Doesn't it say the year & carb (or EFI) on the side of it?

Damn good Question? I have a 2004 chopper and trying to use a carb 2007 EHC on it? Some times it works most of the time no. It has a adapter plate from the two plug to one plug for 2004. Trying to figure out if I still have a wiring problem or is the 2007 EHC looking for something not on my bike? :bang: From the wiring prints not much difference except compression release grounds? :loony:

According to BDM you cannot interchange the carb and EFI EHCs but if I'm not mistaken a couple of members here indicate they have done it successfully.
You should be able to interchange any carb EHC though from 05 forward.
Prior to 05 there are a few adapter boards floating around which I presume, if built correctly, would allow you to use a newer carb EFI on an 04.

I can't vouch for different year models, but yes I'm running an EFI EHC on my carb bike. The EHC came out of a 2008 K-9 and it's in my 2008 Mastiff...

Also hear tale that a carb model EHC won't work in an EFI bike, I believe this to be true...

Yes I believe same year should work. My experience with a 2004 and a 2007 did not work. Got another 2004 and bingo back in business.

Good information here... Might have saved me from blowing a few hundred bucks... I was looking at one on eBay that said it was 04-08 compatible, but sounds to me like it has to be your year or nothing.
