Easy pull clutches

Good morning all, I am wondering if anyone has advice on making my clutch easier to squeeze. I read the threads on here and maybe wasn’t in the right place, but they were all from years ago. I would like to hear from anyone who has currently dealt with this. I am a groomer and over use my hands everyday, so having a clutch that is so stiff is making it a painful experience. I appreciate all your help and advice.

I put the popular Bandit clutch in mine last year after the faulty BDM design failed. It is advertised as easier to pull, but that is only if you do NOT use the recommended install settings, which pre-loads the springs enough so that the pull is nearly identical to stock. I was also looking for easier pull. It's not bad shifting, but holding it through a redlight is tough.

Best advice - always shift into Neutral while still rolling before stopping. Properly adjusted clutch and tranny should always do this reliably. But I still don't think you can ever reliably hit Neutral after you stop.

Hydraulic clutches are supposedly much easier pull, but that's a much bigger job. Big Dog never offered that option, so unfortunately the left control - that looks identical to the brake cylinder on the right - is not available in the beautiful BDM controls. That means you only have a couple of other options, and of course custom fab to adapt it to the BDM setup.

Keep us posted if you figure this out. :)

Just my 2 cents. I just replaced my clutch cable and it was like night and day. The new cable is really smooth and easy to pull. Now I have an 04 so the ramp is a little different but the cable did make a big difference. I also took the handle apart, cleaned and lubed everything.
