easier clutch

A buddy of mine at work told me that he just had a new "easier to pull in the clutch lever" mod done on his BD Chopper. He said it makes it super easy to pull in the clutch. Has any body heard of this mod? I callled the local BD dealer and they said it was under $200 for parts and about 3 hours labor to install. After a day of riding I would not mind having this mod.

If you heard of this please let me know if you had and luck with this or think it's worth the money.

I wish I had more money.
Get your parts and bring the bike over here and we can put it on. Easy deal. Couple two or three beers and we're done. I can't see it taking three hours. Ask them if it's just the ball and ramp. You can get away with that I believe.

I agree with this...
and a awesome offer to boot...
Sorry we did not get a chance to meet when you came down to Paris Tennessee. Perhaps in the future.

Without a doubt. I'm going to be back down there in a few weeks. I have to put a door on the backside of the cabin. I generally come down on Friday night and leave Sunday around noon. My evenings are open. I'll make it a point to see you next time Fo Sho!

Hey Thanks Mikie.
I just now read your post but I already told them to install it Saturday. The bike is just sitting there in the Gatewayshop waiting on the new spacers to be chromed that they had to make for the new wheels. Also I have been out of town and working alot.

Wish I would have read this first because the couple beers sounds way cheaper and a lot more fun.

Anyway, I should have the bike back in a week or two so I looking forward to riding with you again soon. Can you beleive this weather?

Give me a call if you go out riding, I could still force myself to ride my HD Heritage if I have to. lol

Jimi,

Thanks for the thread. I should have done the search but thought this was something new.

After reading it, I wish I would not have had them install it if the clutch is going to slip now.
Hopefully they didnt start yet so I can stop them.

well I called Gateway to tell them to hold off on the clutch Mod. They convienced me that if it's adjusted properly there is not a problem with clutch slippage. They said they have put 100's of zillions of them on (my words) and have not had problems. The new clutch plates are the exact same as in the newer 2008 bikes. You do have to remove the exhaust and get in to both sides so there is some time with thwe install.
Anyway I told them to go ahead and do it.

Hopefully I get the bike back soon because the weather has been exceptional here in St. Louis lately.
