E Carb ----> G Carb = Smile

I finally made the switch to a G carb on my 05 chopper and could instantly feel the difference. This carb opens up the bike a lot because wisting the throttle the bike is a lot more responsive. If anyone is on the fence about swapping out to the bigger carb I give it my :up:

Thanks. My 05 already had a G on it when I got it and 2-2 exhaust. Want to check my jets to see if they are inline with what you have. Plugs look great so I think they are right on.

Did you have the restrictor plate?

No other changes to the bike. I already had V&H 2n2 pipes and a bandit clutch. Jets are 78/24.
So you are running a .24 intermediate and a .78 main? 24 doesn't sound right. I think the E came with .295 intermediate?

Just wondering.

My E only had a 22 in it when I took it out. I did have restrictor plates but I took those out when I still had the E carb. The bike runs just like it should so I don't know what to say about the 24. It could have been read wrong. I did an even swap with a bike shop, there G for my E and manifold. Just was told what jets it had so I did not bother to look just figured I would give it a try.

Alright I stand corrected. I had to take the carb off today to check something out and I looked at the jets. I am running a .295 and 78. So you guys where correct in your suspicions. :)

I just swaped out my E for G last week with the S&S dual runner air intake. I haven't had a chance to tune it yet.

If you have after market pipes and a free flowing air ceaner you might need a .31 intermediate. Check your plugs and your pipes. To white, to lean.

Yea, I think I need a bigger intermediate jet as well. Today I rebuilt the carb since it had sat a long time. The accel pump had seen better days. Since doing that the bike seems to be running lean.

The Carb has an "E" or a "G" stamped in the body. Also you can do a search here... lots of posts regarding this subject too.

Just like Franco said, there is either a big E or G stamped on the side of the carb. Both carbs are physically the same size its just the inlets are significantly different.
