Dyna Beads Issue!

I am ordering new tires and Dyna Beads for my GL1800 and when I contacted my local bike shop to arrange mounting, I told them I was going to have them add Dyna Beads that I will supply.

The guy told me he knows of at least people that had moisture/water in thier tires and that the Beads clumped up. Cause sever out of balance. He warned me not to do it?

Anyone experience this problem?

tell him when he mounts the new tires not to get excesive water in the tire when lubing the bead for mounting. I have been running the beads thru several of my motorcycle tires and never seen this issue myself.
Also I've been changing tires for over 30 yrs and haven't seen moisture in tires I've taken off rims.

Thanks guys.... This was the first time I ever heard of an issue. They are probably afraid of loosing thier 15.00 per wheel balancing charge!
I am gonna run them anyway.

Sounds like the problem is with him. If your worried just wait a day or two before you put them in.

If your air system you are using has moisture in it, this is the only thing i can see that would get moisture in. I have traps on mine and have never had any trouble either.

Get your tires fill with nitrogen. That will keep the moisture out.
I was just going to say the same thing. Costco uses nitrogen in the tires they sell.

According to a local tire supplier we use at the Port, nitrogen is used quite a bit in heavy equipment that is left out in the weather year round such as farming equipment. It is used to prevent rust to the steel wheels inside the tires due to condensation.

Plus as an added benefit nitrogen is lighter than air so it will make your bike faster!!!

Ok, just jackin ya on that last line:lol:

Up here in NE ohio, some sources of air coud have moisture, plus cold and hot days. I ride the Wing as far into winter as possible. I have Nitrogen availabe at work, so I could always top off there.
Thanks Ken
