Dyna Beads causing tire failure?

Just my .02 but I think the beads would wear out a semi truck tire way before they would damage a motorcycle tire. The mileage, and heat build up of a OTR Truck tire would far exceed most if not all motorcycle tires. I think the bike shop either drank some kool-aid or they don't want to spend the time, could also be the $$.

I have been thinking about changing over to the beads in my new truck because I hate looking at the stick on weights that will end up flying off.

The casing of a truck tire is a bit thicker than that of a motorcycle tire..lol
But.. I've never heard of any of the problems mentioned.

Ker, please tell us more about the tire machine.
I got this one that I have from Harbor freight quite a few years ago for under $1000 harbor freight no longer sells them but you can see them on the Internet for around 1500 but mine only goes to 20 inch wheels I can't do my front tire but the new ones from Gregsmith tire supply will do up to 22" and they have the plastic inserts and duck bill so you don't mark the wheels

I've been looking into a new one and the Derek Weaver with the extra assist arm will go a long way in mounting/demounting the 300.

It runs about $1500. So not super cost prohibitive. Without the arm it's only about $1000.

I've been trying to find one on Craigslist and they come up from time to time. The assist arm can be ordered seperatly.

FWIW I used another brand of balancing beads in my old F350. It had a big lift and 40" tires that wouldn't balance no matter what we did with weights. If the road was just right the truck would literally start to bounce--it was nuts. I put in the recommended amount of the beads and it was smooth as glass from there on out.

All the bullshit I've been reading about DynaBeads. I used them back in the 90's in my PeterBuilt
front tires I put over 160,000 miles on them and the wheels were fine, no inside tire wear....
on and on.... I think it's called experience.

Between my cars, the kids cars and the guys I used to work with it don't take long to pay one off even at $5 to mount and balance a tire:old2:
I used to do a set of 4, mount & balance, for a case of beer:cheers:

So your 'experience' is that you've never had any problems with Dynabeads? Welcome to the club. Did you read the first post?
