Dyna 2ki wiring?

Putting the new ignition module on today and I had two questions about the wiring.

1) Since BD does not have VOES I just leave the purple VOES wire disconnected, and do not ground it ,correct? I assume if I grounded it, it would act like a closed VOES switch all the time- no good.

2) Where is the best place to hook up the green tach wire coming out of the Dyna 2ki? Harley has a pink tach wire for it, BD does not. The 2004 chopper schematic shows a yellow wire out of the tach going into the ehc but I have the wire plus, not the ehc anymore.

Thanks guys.

Damn Moe we think the same.

But you can either ground the purple if you want a faster advance or leave it unconnected if you want a slower advance. Just wondering if everyone was leaving theirs disconnected for the slower advance curve.

If you follow that green canm signal wire outta the stock ignition module, I see it connects to the yellow tach wire but that was INSIDE the EHC. My EHC is history. SO the question I had was if I had to pick the yellow wire from the 10/11 connector under the tank or the green wire under the seat at the 27/28 connector into the old TH module- if that makes sense.

My old harness is history so I can't go out and look at what I did, but I know that shortly after installing the 2ki I direct wired my ignition, bypassing the faulty EHC. The only change I made from the original wiring was to run 2 power wires through a switch, one to the coil, and another down to the 2000i in the cone. No change was made for the green wire. I say go with the green, and I did not ground my VOES.

purple voes disconnected on mine

the original tach should of ran thru the ignition module not the ehc so as per your description i say green also.

I removed the 3 wire cam sensor harness that was connedted to the stock TH ignition module, then soldered the green Dyna tach wire to the only green wire left connected to the old TH ignition module, BD calls it a cam signal wire in their schematic. Left the Voes wire unconnected.

Holy shit. I never knew what a freakin raped ape ran like but that new module did it. I think the timing is almost perfect just by static timing it with the module instructions. I should have done this a long long time ago.

Thanks Marv and Moe :2thumbs:
