Duplicolor shadow chrome blackout

Tried it on my s&s air cleaner. Trying to get more black on the bike to flow with the flames it's getting. Swapped the drag bars I just put on for some black bars and the air cleaner had some scuffs on it and is a large hunk of chrome. Next will be exhaust. I think it will turn out okay. Not quite the 300$ s&s kit I want but for under $20 it'll work until I have an extra 300$ floating un needed for home projects.

Not sure the paint would hold up on exhaust pipe heat?

I think they make hi temp paint specifically for exhaust and headers

I'll probably buy black exhaust. Does Vance and Hines make the short shots or big shots for rsd? Having trouble locating them. I want the yaffe phantoms but 1100$ for exhaust is a bit more then I want to put out.

I debated painting just my heat shields black but I don't know how well it would hold up to heat and being on chrome.

Send em off for a hi temp powder coat. Probably find a shop locally that will do it for a pretty reasonable price. Powder coating isn't too expensive

Must be high temp powder coat or ceramicoat.

Regular PK will get soft and or start to grey.


Trust me on this one.

I sent the whole exhaust to jet hot coatings......it cost a fortune, but they were flawless.

Unsure of the prep details, I simply handed them over to a local hot rod painter for the powder coating.
