Quick question for some BDM owners. I have mine financed, so I have never seen the actual title. What information is there? Do they give the serial number on the engine and transmission, or just the VIN number? The reason I ask, is am trying to find out how much trouble I may find myself in if I start changing things arround.

In some states there will the VIN # & in Minnesota they require us to provide the Engine number too. Every state is different & I urge you to contact you local Department of Motor Vehicles or your local Department of Public Safety.

I don't think that you will be in any trouble but if you put a different engine in your dog when you go to sell it you will need the recite of what the new engine number is. If you are going to rebuild & leave the correct engine in then there is no problem what so ever.

You can put any motor you want in it, no worries at all. Title will give Vin, thats all. Your right, dumb question.

Anyone in Texas know if the engine serial number is stated on the title. How is one to know what engine originaly came with the bike?

You don't. Just like classic cars, matching #'s only really mean something if your into collecting cars that have matching #'s. You now can even by blocks with whatever #'s you want on them to make them look original. Motors blow and sometimes you have to put a new one in, no big deal. Cops aren't going to impound you if its a different motor. Just ride it and have a great time, don't sweat the small stuff.
