Im watching that! great find Haze - obviously you found it so if you want it let me know and I'll back out - I suspect the price will go quite high at the end.

Its all yours brother!!!! I suspect its gonna go up quite a bit and for that amount of money theres a few other things I need to do to my dog first. I do wonder what it will go for. I just went to check the price of a used single 45.

They look great I was going to get it a couple years ago but 2 shops in my area said you would never be able to tune it they had nothing but problems with them

I was wondering about that
anyone else know if the can be tuned?
I'm also guessing the the dual 42mm would be plenty instead of the 45's
listed on ebay

yeah my main doubt is the tuning - probably why he is going to switch to a S&S carb - I also agree the twin 42 would be enough and have better low-mid range power and torque - the dual 42's I have seen seem to have the manifold merging into one whereas the dual 45 has 2 seperate runners - I should imagine the air velocity on the twin 42 with the merged manifold must be high

He got 0 bids it never went past the $1 he started it at. Some one might get it cheap if they make him an offer.

I was down at Speeds getting my bike dyno tuned in Myrtle Beach during bike week (great job by the way). A guy came in with a Bourget with dual Mikuni's. Even they had so much trouble tuning it the owner told Speed to take the piece of s*** off and keep it. Guy put on a Super G and the bike ran better than it ever had, according to him. Also heard that a lot of other places. They do look good though.

he had bids on it the other day - it now says he removed it from listing because it was lost or broken - he probably sold it somewhere else

Mikunis are good carbs, but a pain to get dialed in. IIRC there are 5 adjustments on a Mikuni plus jet needle positioning. following the directions will get you in the ballpark but it still takes fine tuning. I couldn't imagine trying to dial in two carbs.

BDM used to run 45mm Mikunis on the TP engines.
Excellent throttle response, self correcting for altitude (variable venturi) but seems like it didn't take anything at all to make the needle valve for the float to stick open.
