Dual Intake??

hey Mike, yes I still have the setup; they aren't going anywhere...:D
I did buy the bike with that on there though, so I'm not positive on the model numbers - but believe they would be the twin 40mm's kit#8637, take a look at the link i sent earlier. Strongly recommend giving them a call to be sure. I think my intake has a number on it, could look later if needed.

The guy I bought the bike from wasn't a wrench, he had it all setup for him at some shop. He told me cam was also installed but no specifics - sorry. I can tell ya it doesn't lope like some S&S 600's I've heard, but that's about it.
I am satisfied with how it runs, but would like to richen it up a bit, I haven't called Edelbrock for new needles/jets it would need for mid throttle richening though.

I cannot use the enricheners/choke or throttle squirt to fire it up, or it'll just flood it out. So its a cold natured sob at times but I got used to it and know what it needs usually. Runs fine once at temp but coughs of course when cold.

I get ask'd about them once in awhile. Hope that helps you and others to decide or think about in the future. I know another member or two was going to try them out also, but never heard back if they did.

I changed air filters since that last pic btw....

Thanks on the input. I have had some 150 hp bikes and I want this one to run good but look sick. More for the looks. I am not into dyno shootouts anymore. If you could get me a no. of the manifold I would really appreciate it. thanks again.

My intake manifold is an Edelbrock # 8624
air cleaner is Edelbrock # 8638
weather cover # 3086 (never used it)

I was thinking the kit # mentioned before would come with intake, dual carbs and cables... but looking at the store; i guess not and that number was for 124"+ (i'll change it, to my guess, which is below)

Best guess Dual Carb would be an Edelbrock # 8637
as shown here:
Edelbrock Performance Products, Sportswear and Accessories - Dual-Carb Kits

Again, i'd call 'em man to be sure...I am sure on the Intake # listed above. (I don't see numbers on my carb's right offis all).

I have been calling Edelbrock all day and their voice service gives you the option to be transfered to operator but that rings busy.

Probably closed for the holiday.

BD, thats a single carb set-up with dual filters correct?

I am thinking he might be asking about the dual carb set-ups that Edelbrook offers.

Cool vid though

Same set up as AJ... Was first in STL with this setup on K9 117 which initially caused a few headaches (minor jetting issues), but once we got it figured out, well worth it. Definite, noticeable performance improvement. Can actually hear it sucking air when goosing throttle at standstill. (Dual carb'd Edelbrock setup above looks even cooler to me tho!)

Gents,

Looking at dual intake for K9 117. First question....Is there any performance benefit to having the dual intake other than it looks bad ass!! I am looking at options for the dual system but have only found wimmer and Vance and Hines. Are there any other dual intake vendors out there in our capitalistic society that make this product for the Dogs and S&S??
Hello, i have a 2003 mastiff and i have dual Mikuni 42's with covingtons stacks. Patrick racing make this setup. I installed a Vance and Hines big radius 2 into 1. I had it dynoed at 110 hp and 112 ft lbs of torque... the engine is a 107 that came on the bike. Not sure of this is normal hp and tq for this bike,,,But i will say its a hoot to ride and gets the looks

Ok I am putting the same setup as Purpledog on my scoot. Anyone have some tuning suggestions on these dual edelbrock carbs?
