Gents,

Looking at dual intake for K9 117. First question....Is there any performance benefit to having the dual intake other than it looks bad ass!! I am looking at options for the dual system but have only found wimmer and Vance and Hines. Are there any other dual intake vendors out there in our capitalistic society that make this product for the Dogs and S&S??

a few of us are running them - I got no complaints with mine. There was an article in AIM which covered these a few months back.

I have had my S&S dual for almost a year now and have it mated to a chrome XXX carb. It not only looks great but being made by S&S I felt they would know what was good for their motors.
I have noticed that in heavy rain they do seem to flood out.....
I guess I need the rain sock they sell....

Edelbrock

Well, Edelbrock also sells a compatible setup....

I'm not really qualified to speak to performance gain as this setup is all I've known on the bike. Should be fair to say you should expect some level of performance increase especially if setup with cam and exhaust. I'm not big on numbers, folks ask and I just tell 'em its fast/powerful enough for me. (it runs fine) Whatever that is - I dunno or care much to be honest. I'm sure there is better out there, like anything else - I'd listen to Alicat.

You can read their marketing here if you like...

I've since changed to the K&N oval filter (no pic) which seems to have changed it's behavior a bit - not really up/dwn; just different.

Precision Bikeworks in Erie did the work. They used the following to clean up the look when the old air cleaner was removed:

3 feet of 3/8
3 feet of 5/16

Not for sure how many stock lines where replaced.
