depends on cam, exhaust, and ignition setting. on mine with a hooker fourbidden and a 640 cam the ignition stayed at the factory pre-set and it worked perfectly as a direct bolt on with zero adjustments of any kind. have run the set up over 5k now and the motor is flawless. one item of note, the choke is not necessary and has never been used. simply prime the carbs twice and hit the switch. it will idle down almost immediately. i also recommend running the motor dry of fuel before shutting it down and keeping the carbs empty. i installed a puke can on mine because if you forget to shut off the fuel supply you will return to a gas puddle.

Sounds like somethings not quiet right then; I've never had fuel leak having forget to shut petcock overnight or even days..jus saying.

If you are running two carbs and a 640 cam with stock ignition settings , IMO I think you need to go to an after market or at least the adjustable Thunder Heart Ignition and unleash some of the power. :loony::loony: Just saying.

Something smells ...anyway I think the OP was probably asking about the duel air filter set up ... I agree if the carb is leaking your float is sticking or set wrong ... I want my click back  O yea these bikes don't have a choke.
