Guys, I got a good deal on a number of the parts I use for the DSSC transmissions. Im offering everyone here that is a member of BigDogBiker a rebuild service on the DSSC trans with the upgraded bearings I have been using for $499.00 until the end of the month.:here: You pay for shipping and insurance. So if ya got a trans making some noise or a clutch slipping in the higher gears here is your chance to get it right before riding season.:choppersmiley:

Includes....
Complete tear down.
Inspect all parts for wear/damage.
Machine wash all parts.
Replace all bearings as well as upgrade input/output shaft bearings with high tolerance machine bearings.
New seals and gaskets.
Check all tolerances, and shafts for straightness.
Bench test for proper operation.
Bottle of proper amount of synthetic transmission fluid for reinstall.

If the gears, shafts, forks, etc are damaged it will be a little extra (actual parts cost only) nothing extra for the build.
I can also remove/install for a extra cost if you bring me the motorcycle so PM me for any details so we can get you scheduled.

DAMN! Just sent my tranny to Baker last week for the same thing. It's shifting from 4th to 3rd by itself. I think I have some worn dogs between those gears. I'll be waiting a month just for them to get to mine. A day late and $499 dollars short I guess.

Bobby, question for you...

So far mine is doing ok. But the clutch hub nut came loose a week ago, leaving me 15 miles and two traffic lights out. I managed to get it home with minimal clutch free shifting. I race shifter karts, and we never use the clutch except for standing starts in a race. But what is the effect of me shifting 10 or so times w/o the clutch on these things? I did my best to match revs, but a couple were pretty clunky. How tender is the DSSC? Part of me feels that things aren't now as they were before ruffing it up.

Abaco21, If it seems fine now you are probably good. If you have doubts about it drain out the transmission fluid and see if you have metal in it.
Shifting like that can be rough on the gears ,shift forks ,etc.

Brad, stuff like that happens to me quite often...Main thing is you will be riding again soon!

Great offer Bobby!

Mine has been fine...but $499 for insurance aint a bad option. Gonna think on it for a few days.

STLMIKIE , All is good with the little Kel Tec sub 2000....Its not one of my AR's but fun and cheap to shoot.

THORS, $499.00 was a special I was running last month. Its slightly more at this time at $599.00 and the turn around time is about 1 week.

Bobby will you still honor the special price .... I have a local guy here but id rather box it up and send it to you ... I'm doing my ground up rebuild and my tranny is sitting on the bench .... main bearings are showing a little wear about .008" play

What's your regular price for the service, Bobby? I don't need you now but I probably will later. Just would like to know so I can have my ducks in a row.

Most rebuilds are a flat fee of $600.00 that includes total tear down, cleaning, inspection of all parts, new seals, gaskets, all of the bearings upgraded to a very high quality machine style bearing used in cutting machines like lathes/milling machines, checking for proper radius cuts on the shafts and re-cutting if needed, checking all tolerances after rebuild and bench test. All my rebuilds come with a one year warrenty.

If for some reason the trans needs other parts like a shaft, gear, etc you will only be charged for the actual part.... as Im already inside of it and there will be no extra labor. Note that some of early DSSC transmissions had issues with the shafts not being properly heat treated and my need to be replaced.

Why can't someone come up with a clutch hub NUT retainer system or a clutch nut that can be safety wired to the inner clutch hub bosses.

There is a NEW hardened (BLACK) nut and flat washer available from Baker right now.
