I looked up the product you (Jersey Mike) suggested 'Cerakote'. Seems to be perfect for Coating a corroded transmission 34-Tooth drive gear. They offer a selection of colors and also air or oven dry. I'm going to get the Matte Black - Oven Dry version. One user reported that you could hit a treated part with a wrench...damaging the wrench but leaving the part unblemished!

While looking for a replacement gear I found a 32-Tooth Short Belt Kit at Barnes Performance. I went ahead and ordered the kit because of the performance upgrade it offers. I'll clean up the 34-Tooth gear, treat it with Cerakote, and keep it as my spare. The rep at Barnes Performance told me that if I had a new belt already (not stretched), I do, then I can still use it with the 32-Tooth gear so I didn't order the shorter belt. However, since it's alot of work pulling everything apart to replace a belt I've decided to order the short belt and know that I have plenty of tolerance left for future adjustments.

I also ordered an Easy-Pull Clutch Ball & Ramp. I'm a little older now and when I'm caught in slow traffic going from 1st to Neutral again and again...gets a little tough on my hand. This kit reports a 45% reduction in pull.

Andrew wouldn’t steer you wrong. All good stuff from him right there. Sounds like you are taking all the right steps! Barnes Performance Cycles is a solid BigDog & AIH parts & Service Center.
