Drive pulley removal

The 2003 has the same setup as a typical Harley would. The socket size needed is 1 7/8" and needs to be deep in order to go over shaft. If you need this socket, I have one you can buy.

I couldn't find a deep enough socket either. So I bought a short socket and cut it in half, then welded it to a piece of pipe.

I guess I never had the drive pulley off on the 2004. Come to think of it I shipped it to Andrew with the pulley attached.

Does it really need to be that deep?

Just helped a buddy on his BDL open primary today. He picked up the socket for it at Sears, but don't know what he paid.

Maybe not quite that deep. It's been a long time since I've had mine off too, but a regular deep socket isn't deep enough.
