Drive belt wearing down clutch cover

I had a new set of wheels installed on my bike. The shop shredded my belt due to misalignment and replaced it with a new one. As you can see in the pictures my belt seems to favor the right side of the sprockets. there is some wear visible on the belt and I noticed a few threads or strands of belt which I sniped off with a razor blade. While I had the clutch cover off I noticed a strange ware pattern that looks like the belt rubbed. in the bottom picture it looks like a lightening bolt. I searched the internet and see that other clutch covers appear to be worn in how to videos but not like this; maybe factory cut for the belt? I was just wondering if this ware pattern is normal or not. If not, can I add a washer to the clutch cover mounting bolts to space the cover out or is something else needed?

Favoring a side isn't the end of the world as long as it's not rubbing however not much to work with and centering it is part of the alignment process. Based on your pic it's still not perfect and why you already had to take some off the new belt.

That wear on the cover shouldn't happen, is it from the old belt that was misaligned though? If new one is rubbing it's still not right, not to mention you shouldn't of had to cut anything off it either.

Yeah i agree totally with u Eric...thats not right its still out of alignment...they all favor a little to one side but that cover deal is bad wrong...is the wheels new or used...the reason i ask that is cause if the wheels r used the bearing maybe bad...u can align with bad bearing but when the tire hits the ground and power is applied it will make one be out of alignment cause of a bad bearing....but there is no doubt its out of alignment

Are you leaking from the trans? Second picture looks like fluid on the ground and above pulley, could be a sign of bad seal/bad bearing.

Not sure if the wear on the cover is from the new or old belt but the new belt was frayed slightly.

Will the belt continue to ware or do you think the damage is done and won’t get worse? Ha.... ya right.

If the belt climbs (it does climb uphill) it will continue to do it till the end of the day unless something changes. Ie. alignment
