I want to put drag handlebars on my 2008 Pitbull, but I don't want to pay for the ridiculously over priced $700. handlebars from Big Dog. :loony:

Does anyone know of some aftermarket dragbars that will fit on a 2008 Pitbull?

If you want to use your factory hand controls and such you have to use big dog bars.
Other option would be to get a set made that have the big dog prpritory sized ends.
Other option would be to gut the EHC and go with a wireplus kit. Then you can use any Harley style bar and controls.
Other option....????

After reading your intro.
Option. Sell all the 2 up parts and buy the bars you want from big dog.
Of course check with supporting dealers here as most will give you a discount.
I have had good dealings with Lena from strokers.

what?

check out carlinis like oscar said.

I was lookin to swap out and go with apes. came across this site

Chopper & Drag Bars

I thought I read somewhere on their site where they can make the bars for you so that the stock big dog controls would fit as they require a different diameter bar.
they've got a lot of different designs.

good luck

Well....I ended up ordering the Drop Seat & Drag Handle Bar kit from BigDog. After I get this stuff installed I'll follow up with some pics.

Thanks

I assume the Drag handlebar kit comes with shorter wiring harnesses, throttle cables, and clutch cable to do it right. It isn't just a $600 set of bars.

Yes the kit did come with extra cables and stuff, but to be honest I haven't really had time to really look in the box yet. I'm going to take it to a BDM service center to have the stuff installed.

Ram-Z looks like I have the same bike you do. I have been thinking about putting drag bars on mine too. When you get it done can you throw some pics up?

Right now it's at a BDM service center. I'm getting a complete Spring Checkup service, and I'm having them install the handlebar kit. :D

As soon as I get the bike back I'll be sure to post some pics. :2thumbs:

Which one did you take it too? I know County Line Choppers is a BDM service center as well as Raymond's in Canastota.

Hi Earl :hi:

It's at County Line Choppers. Their only 10 miles from my house.

The original battery died just before I took to County Line Choppers. (I'm suprised it lasted as long as three years)

Since the bike is new to me....I really wanted someone like County Line to really go thru the bike and make sure it was 100 % ready to ride.

They installed the handlebar kit, and I had them remove the sissy bar. The sissy bar mounts on differently on this bike compared to other Big Dogs. There are 2 set screws on the bottom of each rear fender strut. I was able to get one screw out, but the other three screws were in there so tight that the allen heads stripped right out.:bang: The guys at County Line were able to remove the screws for me.

The bike is actually all done, I just need to go pick it up. :2thumbs:

Pictures just don't do justice to these newer Pitbulls. They look so much better in person, and that's when the large diameter rims really stand out. :D
