Drag strip

Has anyone ever taken their Big Dog to a drag strip? I have read posts about “taking” other bikes on the road, but what about on an actual track? I know we don’t buy a Big Dog to race, although I think it would be interesting to see what they would do. This Tuesday there is a tune and track day at a local strip and I was debating on paying the measly $15 to play around before installing mods this winter to compare what the bike will do pre and post. The site claims 0-60 in 3.9 which is impressive.

well.... i spend a fair amount of time at the track racing cars and spectating and i never saw a dog or many hds. the sportbikes are always runnin though. you MUST have full leathers at any track i've ever been at to race. if you do happen to make a pass just be careful, i've seen guy's on bikes go down runnin and it's not pretty.

Hey Toad...If you deicde to take your Dqwg to Test and Tune...be certain to take lots of pics and post them where we can see them....and have fun..!!!!!

We have a few members that had been to the track. If I remember corectly one of the guys had his bike into the 10's. Thimper. Your bike might not be made for the track. Dumbass might be a little harsh. Some of the guy have there set up for the track. I leave it at that. I had posted a video up of a bigdog spanking a ricer at the track sometime ago.

Everything is made for a drag strip.It is nothing more than a 1/8th or 1/4 mile of asphalt like every other road in America. Someone made a piece of property so people could see what there machines are capable of instead of doing on the road like in the early days. Everything ever made has been taken down the road by someone who wants to now how fast he or she can get to the end or how consistent they can do it time after time. The only thing not made for the drag strip are those too big of a punk to go down it for one excuse or another. Kinda like a guy with a vette who says he paid too much for it to take it down the strip. The vette exist because it is a performance car to do such a thing. Go in your garage and wax your bike some more stick it in a trailer and take it to bike night in a parking lot somewhere for people to gawk at it and leave us riders alone.....

Why would you take a 30 grand bike to a race track when a $4000 bike off craigs list will smoke its ass, I know some think they have a fast Dog but in all honesty they're all slow as shit. I love my dog but laugh every time some one brings up racing one. Now if your trying to stir the shit pot you just did it

Opinions are like ass holes... I've never taken my dog to the track, but have raced several other bikes on the street, to include a few sport bikes. I have out run a CBR 600 up to about 120, a ZX6R up to about 100, & a GSXR 750 up to about 85. The only reason they can out run us on top end, is the simple fact we run out of rpms.
Not all dogs are slow. I've owned several bikes throughout the years to include ricer's & even a VROD & my dog is the fastest yet. Of course, it's not completely stock either.
There are several on this forum faster than mine, at least with more HP & Torque. If you want to race it, race it. If you want to just cruise, then cruise.
Me? I plan on doing a little of both. :flag:

I wasnt refering to your comment, it was nomads that set sideways with me, the drugs and pain are taking ther toll.
my comments were harsh and i appoligise for that, to each their own.
You take a 8oo pound bike with 120hp and compare it to a 400lb bike at 180hp, the numbers dont add up.
