Searched through the forum and haven't found a solution to this yet -- that and I pretty much know crap about transmissions.
PROBLEM:
- downshifting from 3rd into 2d often results in 2d not engaging and it sounds like the gears are floating near each other--could be the sound of the shift dog maybe
- downshifts normally if I give it some throttle and let the clutch out fast (makes for some excitement getting the timing down)
- shifter pawl adjustment seems fine, but I checked it without taking the cover off.
- shifts into neutral fine
- some times, from neutral it'll only shift into first after some throttle and easing the clutch out
- all other gears seem fine
- heim joints were fine, but I re-lubed them anyway
All thoughts are appreciated ...
