Dot 5 and DOT 4

I saw a label on my handlebars that said use dot 5 so I bought dot 5 fluid for my front brake. It has a pruplest color to it when the fluid that is in it is clear. I believe I aded dot 5 to dot 4 and if that is the case do I just pressure bleed it or do I have to clean it with ethanol alcohol and make sur the line is clear to fill it back up with dot 5?

Dot 5 loses its color after time. Purple is good. NEVER DOT 5.5! You got it right.
