How many of ya'll are using these? I'm on the second one they have sent me and this one is mis-machined as well. The 1st backing plate had a hole cut thru the vent from the plate to the carb. The new one I got as replacement when bolted to the carb is almost an 1/8" off center of the carb venturi. Any body else have any issues with this?
I think i'm gonna stick with the S&S stock plate. Liked the Doherty because you don't have to pull the plate to drop the bowl. WTF:bang::bang:

V I have one, but mine is perfectly center. As for the hole in the plate itself mine had an angled hole that lined up with the front vent on the carb. It was filled with silicone so if you used it you have to pull it out otherwise leave it in.

thanks for the response! Yea the both had the silicone plug. The first one they send me where the plug was was incorrectly bored/drilled and came out of the back plate on the wrong angle so unfiltered air could get to the fuel bowl and the intake. The second one I got as noted when mounted to the carb sets to the front almost an 1/8" so in coming air hits the edge of the flat mounting flange of the carb. And the extra attachment holes for a different carb all allow unfintered air to enter:loony:

Thats messed up, mine also had the extra mounting holes that the bolt pattern was larger than the G carb but I thought they were blocked off once you popped in the radiused venturi if I remember?
