Sat October 6, 2007 is when I replaced the EHC

Let me find the thread and see if I have the part number there. I had to cut the wire because it was in the instructions and yeah I called Big Dog and asked twice before I cut that wire  TWICE

If the starter solenoid had power when it wouldn't start, how could it be the EHC?
I'm with you! Just reporting what they are telling me.

I did notice ( and didn't report it) that I was getting some strange flashing of the tach lights. (ie. 3-4 red lights and a couple of yellow lights) Also, with the battery disconected, I noticed a very faint flashing yellow light on the EHC. It was the 2nd or 3rd light from the right (sitting on the bike).

Apparently when they plugged the reader into the ehc, it spits out a code or something that indicated the ehc was bad...
