Dog will not spin fast enough to start

Battery 100% load test (0ne-year old). Compression releases seem to be functioning. Motor spins freely with plugs removed. Plunge button on starter makes no difference. New starer last year.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If battery is full, comp releases work, starter works fine, engine spins freely: the problem is somewhere else. You have a spark? Or fuel?
 
YEP..it is all there. If I hit it with a 125 amp start boost away we go. On the bike battery (confirmed 100% by two different load tests) not so good--acts like low battery. I am only assuming I have starter issues but it is only one-year old as well.

That's a good way to fry electrical! Wire Plus and others do not dance well with 125 crank boxes!

Your battery should be at least 300 amps, so why would another 125 hurt it? If the additional amps fire it up, I would say the battery is not up to par even though its testing 100% or the connections are poor on the battery.
 
Checked and secured all the battery connections when I had it load tested. Fortunately, we are having crap weather here so I have time on my side. Meanwhile any other thoughts would be appreciated.

So what is the voltage on the battery? What is the voltage while trying starting? what is the voltage after trying to start?

Yeah you need to put a meter on the battery when your cranking it to see what the volts start out with and drop down to. As stated earlier, it sounds like your battery isn't handling the load very well...

Its the battery !

For the starter booster to work when connected is a tell tale sign.

The battery may have become sulphated, and as such won't charge properly. Desulphating multi stage charges are cheap, and keeping the battery on a tenderer when not in use goes a long way to prolonging battery life.
Your battery needs a minimum of around 12.6-12.8 volts from a decent cca battery to turn over.

Battery boost eat up EHC units for breakfast, why I do not know. Ask Capt America but doing that is just asking to give Wires Plus a new donation!

I carry the jumpstart XP-3 with me all the time and wouldn't hesitate to use if I needed it and that's 200-400peak amps, I believe the problem comes when you jump from a running vehicle, but jump boxes are ok to use. Maybe Kapt can shed more light on this.

Generally what happens on a jump, if it goes bad, is the inbound micro breaker gets fried. Once you shut the bike off you never get power again. The problem with jumping is you have no control over the voltage being sent into your system. If the feed exceeds the units capabilities, which it very easily can, then you end up with burned out components.

I would say battery but if the battery checks out ok then the starter. It could have a minor short which draws too much current from the battery. Good luck.
 
You need a minimum 12.8 volts and 280 amps to start the dog. As stated earlier, check volts while hitting the start button and see how far the volts drop. Should not drop below 12.6 volts. If you have that....check the starter
