I don't like the spikes either, but you saw my head so I'm probably a little biased. If they pointed forward it wouldn't be too bad.

Don't like the dual spikes pointing up he must not have tuned it properly
Does it matter if it's pointing forward or upwards on how it's tuned? Mine was originally pointing forward and I moved it facing up. No problems.... I only have a single spike though... please explain the difference and the need to tune.

It's in the jetting, I believe it runs leaner in the horizontal position and needs to be re-jetted to run correctly, I am sure Kevin knows more about it and will chime in here soon.

That's very interesting. Now that you say that, I've notice the last few times my bike back fires more often... I wonder if that's because I moved it vertically?

No, actually if its horizontal it will backfire more, at least that's what happened to me on my 05 Bulldog, I didn't like it mounted vertically when I bought it so I changed it to the horizontal position and it started backfiring like crazy! I took the whole thing off eventually, just not my style anyway, some guys love em and some don't, I just like the original look personally.

Hmm. I agree with the style, mine was on when I got the bike. I'm going to have to switch it back and just find out!

The other thing for me was comfort, since I had forward controls my leg hit it and bugged the hell outta me, if you have the original you should be happier with the performance and looks also, at least I am. :)

I just want it pointing forward so that I'm less likely to hit myself on the spike. The spike air clean was on my bike when I got it and I like because it moves the air cleaner forward just enough that I'm not banging my shin into it. On a lot of bikes that I've sat on I had to rotate my foot inward to reach the break because of the bulky cleaner.

Yes I do have to rotate my foot to hit the brake, but that was only after I put the 2.5" forward controls on and since I am 5'-9" tall, without the extended controls I didn't have to, so basically it comes down to whatever works for you, that's all that matters really.
