ok at 3500 miles bent rod,at 7000 miles head gaskets blown and studs pulling out of case.helicoiled and now at 8300 miles got same dull pop when cold.this is the noise right before the head gasket blew.no more s/s motor.they rebuilt this motor at 3500 miles and would not make it right.how about the ultama motors?anyone hear anything about them?thanks mobsta

who rebuilt your motor? and why was it not done right?:confused: as you said.... Ray has 60,000 miles on his motor and no problems.....I have not heard of these motors just taking a shit like that....I would deal with the person who re-did your motor....but thats just me...hope you get it straightened out...

s/s motors rebuilt it.they said polished cases can cause a change in the metal and cause studs to pull out.the only thing the offered is 10% discount on another set of polished cases.

no expert here but I don't think you should be using helicoils on those studs (see Moe's thread). The ultima's put the power out but from what I've heard they are really just imitation S&S motors but without the quality - hence the price (you probably doubt the build quality of S&S right now though). I've also been told they're made in the far east, not the states. Don't know if that's true or not.

talk to a local who builds race engines.he said helicoils ok but would rather use time certs.time certs are harder to install.live and learn.looking at harley motors too.i always owned hd.thanks for the ultima info.no more dogs for me.bad service,bad warranty,bad s/s.

I HOPE I CAN STILL USE TIME SERTS AFTER USING HELICOILS.TIME WILL TELL.I HAVE HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS BIKE IT JUST GETS REAL FRUSTRATING.THANKS FOR THE INFO.MOBSTA
